Crap! is my head too big?

Happy Halloween ya'll!











Well , I hate to say it , but the bad luck streak is still going on around here.



So, I just thought about how when everything is all happy and going good , writing about it is like releasing helium balloons into the sky.



and when things are going bad ....just writing about them ..is like digging a grave with a teaspoon.



It realllllly takes a lot of energy to write misery.


who knew?


Guess it's true , you DO learn something everyday.



So , since I'm still on the misery streak ..I will just stick to the facts. :)

Monday 8:30 A.M.


take the truck to the Toyota place. Luckily after about an hour ,the lady drives me home THIS time.



Immediately, I am informed "we are backed up, it probably won't be til 5"



sweet. I was supposed to work from 12 to 3.



I call the office girl and she is wonderful enough to find me a replacement . I come home and by 3 ,I am ready to chop my own head off.

I had cleaned alllll day the day before. And I read an entire novel by 4.


Pretty soon I would be out of cigarettes, no food in the house , no diet coke. GAH!



I call Floozie2 ,she has to come home and go right back to work. ack!



So I call Nosey , thank God she takes me to the grocery store.

I made some chili Verde out of my new found groceries. It was 7 p.m. by the time it was done. I was starving by then and ate wayyyy too much ,because it was so damn delicious. you know.




ring ..ring..."oh ,hi it's Toyota, we think it is some hose" bla bla bla"
"million dollars ...bla bla bla"



later ....ring ...ring ..."oh it's Toyota again, nope, it's not a hose , it the fitting , or the housing or some crap, we won't even get the part until Wed."




After all WE are the f'n TOYOTA dealer ...but we do not actually STOCK any TOYOTA parts here.

Shit ,yo , they cost too much money!




Me: restraining my insane rage "well, isn't that special. didn't we just pay you guys a thousand bucks to fix all this , a WEEK ago?

DEEP BREATH....."um , this IS the only vehicle I have , I would really appreciate it if they hurry up and fix it"

Tuesday......



Eva has to pick me up this morning , and she has her adorable 12 year old daughter "Firefly" with her. She often comes with us on Tuesday's .



So we go to our meeting and broker tour.Then the last house is right out by our favorite Mexican restaurant. So we MUST eat there the second they open.



While we are waiting to order ,Firefly takes a video of us on her moms new camera.

Oh ,as if we weren't depressed enough already. Nothing takes you over the edge like those close ups of your double chin/s. :)



then ,I decide to be all brave and order something "different"

I order the Carnitas. WITH NO RICE.

and ,I should have known better. It was mostly globs of boiled looking pork fat.
ack!!

so i wound up stuffing myself full of beans ,beans and more beans . and leaving my gross carnitas on the plate.



Then..EVERY business errand we tried to go on ,ended up in failure.
The person we seek,is not there.



Ack!



So they take me home. By then ,I am exhausted , just from the schleprockyness of the past 2 weeks.


I take a nap for about 30 minutes and Floozie 1 calls me and say she's coming to get me. So I go over to her house for a couple hours , see her new snazzy appliances and we happy hour.


Buttttt...since I'm car-less, she still has to drive me back home. :)



So we couldn't get too happy.


Than I ate leftovers and tired to take one lousy picture of the cats for Halloween.....I present you with the results of our photo shoot.

the long long day....

well, i've been stuck in this house all day today.



yesterday i was informed that there was a huge puddle in front of my truck . yep...the 1,000 repairs OBVIOUSLY did not work . because all my water and antifreeze was on the ground.
so tomorrow ..it's back to the freakin toyota place. ack!!!



so what have i done all day?besides being stuck here with no edible food?
i had to eat a sandwich made from lunch meat that was surely moments away from becoming poisonous.



i worked like a crazy woman , cleaning ,laundry-ing,mopping, sorting and goodwilling,vacuuming with my broken vacuume cleaner, cleaned out the fridge,cleaned out my dresser drawers,
scrubbed one bathroom, all i have left now is the porches and my bathroom.




about 2 ,i couldn't take it anymore and lay down to take my nap. well, instead i wound up









reading the rest of this ..for 4 hours. i had never read this guy before . but that's all about to change!
it was good.












so ,i can tell now, it's going to be a longggggg evening.

I am moron......

Let me back up a minute....Monday..the 22nd, I was supposed to have floor duty. I wasn't up to it. I call this girl from work "can you do my floor duty today from 12 to 3?"

"Oh , sure ,I would love to, let me rearrange my schedule and I'll do it."


Today......I get a message on my phone (too late)
"Hi Lena, are you ever gonna show up for floor today?"

CRAP! I was looking at the wrong damn WEEK on my calendar.(for days now)

So, that means I'm on the "bad boy list " next month now. No floor duty allowed. ack!









I've been doing laundry for what seems like years!












Shortly after i woke up today , the area under my left eye started twitching. And by twitching ...I mean pulsing .Visibly pulsing...to the beat of my heart.

It has continued to do so .....allll damn day.

Help !!!! It's driving me insane!!!

It reminds me of that movie, “The Pink Panther” where the Inspector over Cluseuo get so obsessed with ruining Cleaseao that he gets a twitch in his eye and eventually ends up in the insane asylum.

(it actually reminded some other eye twitcher of that, but I can see how that would happen)



In spite of the damn eye twitching.....i tried to carry on with my day.

I tried to take the knuckleheads Halloween pictures. no one would have any part of getting dressed up . BRATS!!















I took my nap.















I packaged up Halloween bags of candy.... I plan to attach my hideous Halloween business cards to them with orange ribbon..












I got my hair back to ONE color....which I now see, is too damn dark.

Next time I think I'll blend the hamburger meat up so it has the consistency of liver.

I haven't had a chance to update ......so ya'll don't know ......the other day we pick the truck up from the Toyota place.


Remember ,after the $1,000 worth of repairs?


My darling had already gotten a rental car to get to the airport because we didn't know if the truck would be finished in time. So, we go pick up the truck.


He needs to return the clothes he had bought because of the "cleaner fiasco" They gave his dry cleaned suits to "some doctor"


I needed to run my errands (yes, that included thrift stores) :)


So , he says"you take the rental car because I want to drive the truck and make sure it's ok."


ok , fine.


I get across town ,just walk into Goodwill......



ring ...ring......

"hello"

"do you have our insurance card?can you bring it to the Belks parking lot? some woman just backed into me?"

"are you joking?"

"no,I'm not"

son a ma bitchka! WTH??



I drive all the way back over to the other side of town and give him the card.The accident officer is there and everything.



My spouse ,is unused to this kind of streak of bad luck.



He says" can it get any better?"

me ..shivering with dread ..."oooh! don't ever say THAT or it will!"

I never got to make it to the grocery store today.


About 6:30 ,I order a pizza from dominos.


I did it all "hi tech" online. It says "make your own pizza. Ok, cool.
i just want philly beef and jalapenos.

'bout 7;30 they bring my pizza. It is NOT at ALL what I ordered. It is this.............






all infested with mushrooms, olives ,onions and green peppers.







Son a ma bitchka! ack!!!

He leaves. i go in there to FINAlly eat ....and what do i see?

"um, no, that's not me. I'm the one who ordered just a plain old beef and jalapeño pizza, and now you guys have brought me the wrong pizza TWICE!"

"oh , ok , i will make it myself and get that right out to you"
(after we all spit all over it ,of course)




So ...the waiting begins again.


in the meantime i call floozie 2 and ask her if she wants some free pizza.


the delivery guy gets here for the 3rd time.....right before she does.
and this time he confiscates the other 2 pizzas. LOL


OMG. i am on an episode from the twilight zone.


Needless to say....the third pizza was also disgusting. Maybe it's just the thought of what they did to it.


I give up.

Yesterday we ,all us old ladies ,went to see the play "the murder room"


We should have planned to go have drinks afterwards so we could all discuss it.
Next time ya'll ,lets do that.


Anyhow ,the play was funny and just adorable .Live theater is so fun. I forget how much I love it.


This one was a British murder mystery. And the day before ,one of the lead actress's had quit. So the girl who took her place was actually reading the lines as she went along,but she did a great job . She didn't flub up once.Kudos girl!


The leading lady had some really nice clothes and I'm assuming they were her own. Obviously ,you don't shop in Hot springs dah'ling.Please tell us where you DO shop.


My favorite character was the overweight lady who played the housekeeper. You were awesome honey! A gushing baby Huey. I loved you!


Everyone was good.I have much respect for anyone who can perform in public like that.


The next one they are going to do is "A Christmas story"

So, you knowwww we are going to that one.

Yesterday morning I left here to go run errands .I just make it across town and what do I notice?
Oh ,sweet , the damn truck is running hot AGAIN!



If you remember , we just had that problem fixed a while back, to the tune of $450.00



So I turn around and come back home , without running any of my errands.
My spouse takes it back up to the Toyota place.
He did not have to sit there all day ,like I did. They drove him right back home.WTH?



They still have the truck though . And the lovely news? Oh we need a new water pump, new hoses and a new timing belt.
Only a THOUSAND bucks!

Yesterday I also got my first paycheck for the entire YEAR .....just a small one ,a referral fee.
I couldn't go get it because we were stuck here. So I called the office and asked our administrative gal

"can you tell me how much it is?"
"Sure, it's $1,034.00 "
"whoo hoo , that's even more than i thought it would be"


I tell me spouse and he says" oh boy, just enough to cover THREES phone bill"

Last night we took the boat out for the last time of the season. We shall be putting the covers on it today.

they lower the lake level in a couple weeks . So i doubt if I will do any solo boating the rest of the year.

Well, naturally our plan for the evening totally went to hell in a handbag.


I was supposed to go right here in town to the little airport and pick up my spouse. I head over there an hour early, so i can get there BEFORE dark.


On the way there...ring ..ring...

"well ,the plane's 20 minutes late so far,we're still sitting in the terminal"

Sweet, thank god I brought a book.



About an hour later....ring ...ring.....

"Do you want to come to little Rock? that's where I'm gonna have to fly to"

"Ummmm NOOOOO!"

I am blind as a bat at night. NO WAY can i drive to little Rock.

"ok, go ahead and go home, I'm gonna rent a car and drive home from little rock.
put the food away, I'm sitting in fridays right now."




I leave to go home ,which is probably a distance of 5 whole miles. First I can NOT see where I am supposed to stop for the red lights. Then I can not see the freeway on ramp, which i totally pass up and have to go turn around.


I'm thinking "crap, i'm gonna get pulled over for looking like a drunk driver"



I made it home. Ate my greek lemon chicken ,which would have been delicious ,had it not baked that extra 2 hours.



Ring ...ring.....

"hello"

"ok, the flight gets in at 10:30 ,so i should be home at Midnight"

I tried to wait up, I really did. lol

"didn't you ring the doorbell?"

As it turned out HE did get pulled over. For speeding. But the cop just gave him a warning because he felt sorry for him after hearing his tale of woe.



So, he is now sleeping in. and I do not know what our plan du jour is yet.

Can you say exciting???

Ola ya'll,

Today i'm doing the good housewife thing. I'm making brownies and greek lemon chicken.

My spouse is in Dallas for the day. I have to go pick him up in a little while. Thank God ,he is flying into the Hot springs Airport. He got to experience the little tiny plane of horror.

I had to go get him in Little Rock yesterday.He had been to Boston .When I picked him up ,he was still all dressed up. I hadn't expected that. lol He said "where would I have changed at?"








I think he looks adorably cute when he's in his businessman uniform.











We went to Olive garden for dinner when we got back to town. He actually brought his laptop in to the table to finish some big project he was working on. I wished I had the camera with me.

Obviously ,I was under dressed for dinner. lol

They brought my food ,and totally forgot to put the sauce on it. It was hideous! Just dry boiled pasta. NEVER order the stuffed chicken breast Florentine.

We got home and my spouse realized that his cell phone was missing. He went back up there and found it in the parking lot. Looks as if only one car ran over it.
It actually still works ,but the screen is cracked and the cover is broken off. Luckily he has some kind of replacement policy. good thinking dear.

Well, nothing else is going on around here ,unless you want to hear me whine about my job. LOL
I think I'll be kind and spare you.

I can't wait to go on my trip to Chicago! wooo hoo!!And Sunday (after i go to the airport,once again) I am going to a play with a bunch of my old lady friends. Looking forward to that too.

I'll be taking the cats Halloween pics ...soon..... lol

For those who asked:
The recipe for my Southern Yankee Chili

1 pound ground beef (I use very lean)
garlic
cumin
black pepper
2 cans of beans
1 can of extra hot rotel
1/2 a jar of El Pinta green chili sauce (available at Kroger)
1 package of dry chili seasoning(brand doesn't matter)
1 bean can of water (or more ,if you like it more brothy)

Brown the ground beef with the garlic,cumin and black pepper.
(I mash my meat up with a potato masher because I like it small)
Ladle out any grease if there is any.
Add the dry chili seasoning and the can of water. Simmer for about 15 minutes.
Then add the beans, rotel and green chili sauce.(and stir and add more water if it's too thick)
Simmer on low heat for 30 minutes to an hour.


I never add salt until I see if the dry chili pack was salty enough. So NOW, taste and see if you need any salt.

So easy ,it's a sin and soooo yummy! tastes even better the next day,after sitting in the fridge all night.

This morning i went and had brunch with Floozie1 ,whom I have not seen in ages.

Then I lay around in my bed reading the day away until we went out on the boat.


After we went out on the boat we went and dined at Olive Garden.Which was actually pretty yummy. I recommend the steak Gorgonzola Alfredo. mmmmm

Then we did the usual. (nothing) lol

My darling has to go to Boston today. I shall be spending the whole time he is gone cleaning this pigsty.

I have to work Tues and Wed. (damn we're exciting ,no?)

We just got a memo from the owner of our company saying they do not expect this lousy housing market to turn around until 2009. yikes! that really depresses me.
