The Recipe For Oldy-tini

3 parts Tease
2 parts Drive
1 part Pizzazz

Splash of Naughtiness

Limit yourself to one serving. This cocktail is strong!

And a borinnnnng new yearrrrr.......

Last night I read some book called "not like you" ,one of those crazy mother /angst filled daughter books. I finished it at 12:30, bawling about a lost dog and a pet rat.

Then , I couldn't stop frekin' crying. The tears just kept falling out. Oh lovely....The only way to stop that is get up and have a cigarette.

Finally get to sleep about 1:30. So naturally Cavuto woke me up at the crack of dawn. Meowing in my face. Petting my eyelids and when that doesn't work ,he moves on to deliberately knocking over glasses of water.

Sleep must be just for babies.I give up on ever sleeping more than 5 or 6 hours in a row. Thank God for my old lady naps:)

"What are YOU gonna do about it??"

*evil cat cackle*

******************************************************************************
Well, now is when I should have some great post about the past year.I'm dry people.......I guess that means the year was pretty uneventful. Which is good. I stayed pretty sane all year. Everyone was healthy. I became better at counting my blessings. I did not get skinny. (kind of getting better at giving up that ludicrous idea)

So , let me see if I can recap the highlights ....with my limited memory. :)

Jan:Hubby went back to Sweden.Kids went home after Christmas. I started my fabulous Real Estate career.

Feb: Was probably cold ,bored and depressed.

March:Busy working...but making ZERO money.Desperate for Spring to arrive.

April: Probably on some new starvation diet....which did nothing. Feeble attempts at going to the gym. Even more desperate for Spring.

May: Spring at last!!!Finally able to take the boat out. Vicki came. We took a fabulous trip to Eureka Springs and to the wild cat preserve.

June: Spent the month working and going out on the boat, baking myself to a fat ,wrinkly brown.
Latest starvation diet fails.

July: Hubby and kids home for vacation. Got a new boat. Had a blast .Wish summer would never end.

August: Kids go home. Hubby goes back to Sweden.Spend a few weeks in mourning. Then get back into the swing of work. Spend every spare moment on the boat.

Sept:Making zero money at work. Starting to get pissed about my job. :( Latest diet fails.
Getting colder and taking very long naps everyday.

Oct:Living the same life as the cats. Read millions of books. Took many naps. Started putting on my winter coat of flab.
Got my first paycheck of the entire damn year!

Nov:Busy cleaning and putting up Christmas decorations.Had Thanksgiving at Floozie1's.
Became fatter and more cat like.Sudden fire destroys the truck. Even while it was happening...I was able to think of how much worse it could have been and remain thankful.

Dec: Trying to adopt new motto "I'm not fat, I'm fluffy"
Get new truck out of necessity.
Hubby retires and comes home to start new job. Kids come for Christmas. Great time is had by all. Christmas is just wonderful.
Kids go home. Hubby remains home , due to job in Sweden being over and new job not having started yet.
House remains in shambles. Fox news is wearing out the t.v.
Hubby having hard time adjusting to new life of boredom.I'm having hard time adjusting to living in a pig pen.Lazy ,cold, tired and ready for the New Year to begin. :)

Pretty exciting year ,wasn't it? ha ha ha (not!!)

So here it is, the last day of good old 2007. We have been invited to go out to dinner tonight with Nosey and G5 . So we DO have a plan for New Years eve.Although I'm sure we will be in bed long before midnight. We're party animals like that.

I have not yet decided if I will make any new years resolutions. (i better hurry up on that)

I'm sure if I do, it will be the ever popular"quit smoking"
But...I just don't think I'm ready . So....maybe it will be something easier......

like ....eat more fried food.
(i wish)

Or.....do more laundry, keep my porches cleaner, read more books, get rid of a million books, give up food entirely, take 12,000 pictures off my harddrive, organize my lousy cabinets, have a huge yard sale and declutter my house, quit buying clothes, get a hobby, shampoo my carpets,
stop getting a tan, buy some expensive wrinkle cream,

So many fun choices.....how can I decide???Let me know what y'alls resolution is or isn't going to be.

I hope everyone has a wonderful "uneventful" year. Boring is safe baby:)))

Sunday, December 30, 2007

We miss the babies......

Me "man, I woke up every damn hour , all night long"

Hubby " Well , I couldn't go to sleep at all!"

Maybe he'll sleep long enough now, for me to clean the house. :)

*****************************************************************************
The day before my last child left he said " Did you get anything for Jackie-O? "
(his girlfriend)

"Oh crap! I totally forgot to get her OR Gidget a present! Why didn't you say something sooner?"

Well, that's nice. now the girlfriends are going to think
A. I hate them
B. I'm a trash bag.

Sa-weet! I swear...you guys ,I really did just forget because I'm frekin senile.

********************************************************************************
Today is the baby's birthday.

Little Cavuto is 2 years old. time flies doesn't it?

Seems like yesterday that I flew to Maryland and brought home a little tiny runt of a kitten.

Happy birthday Dummy!!!

**********************************************************************************

I wish I had taken a picture of the way sons Two and Three packed their suitcases.
Which they packed like 10 minutes before they had to leave for the airport.

I swear, they literally scooped stuff up in a big pile and just threw it in there.

NOTHING was folded, clean mixed with dirty.

If someone had to open those suitcases they probably would have blown up right in their faces. A mountain of stinky socks, gray underwear, board games, and loose poker chips.

Were they raised by wolves??
Umm ..no they weren't . So wth happened??

Son One ,anally retentively packed his AND loaded the car the night before.Everything was folded and organized. Maps were printed, schedules were made. LOL
When I got up at 5:30 he was packing sandwiches and organizing his cooler.

It's funny how they can all be so different.

When I was 22 years old I went to my Grandmas church one Mothers Day. I was awarded a huge (hideous) mum for being "the youngest mother with the most kids"

If someone had shown me a crystal ball that day and I had been able to see what great human beings those 3 poor little boys ,with a child for a mother ,would turn out to be.
I never would have believed it. I would have said "HOW is that gonna happen?"

By the grace of God ,That's how:))

They are some of the best (and the funniest) people I know. I could not be more proud if they were all nuclear scientists.

It's a wonderful life!!! :)

Have a great day peeps!
Luv me

The three little pigs are gone......

Happy Saturday y'all,
Well the last of my chill'uns just left a little while ago. There goes my last excuse for not cleaning my sh*thole of a house.
It's amazing to me that my kids are grown, self supporting ,functional adults yet when they get near mom.....they become invalids.
take out trash ? "ewww, I'm too sick"." I'm too tired." or the ever popular "look around and pretend to be deaf"
pick up ONE thing after themselves? "what thing? " oh now they're blind too.
If they acted ,at home ,the way they do here ,they would be living in a landfill.
Maybe they secretly LOVE to hear me nag?lol I bet that's it.
********************************************************************************************************************************************
last night we went to dinner at Fishermans Wharf. Cajun Mahi mahi and sweet potato fries. MMMMMMM.
I brought the camera and naturally, forgot to take any pictures.
Then we watched the movie "Next" with Nicholas Cage. I could not keep my yap shut with my comments. such as
"good Lord , didn't they have a budget for a hairdresser? his hair looks AWFUL!"
met with dirty looks and shushing and a "who cares!"
well, I care! thats who! If they're gonna use HIM as a leading man , I don't want him looking like some middle aged bum.
I LOVE watching movies with men. NOT!!!
***************************************************************************************************************************************************
Floozie2 is out of town, Floozie1 is busy , Eva is out in the sticks....all my local peeps are out of pocket.
And it's freezin' ass cold. What will I do today?
I guess , cleaning it is. IF I can lock my husband up in a room somewhere.
Wish me luck with that.:))
Have a great non-boring day y'all!

Pass the mexican food...please

Happy "back to reality "day y'all

Lot's of husbands out there really seem to be stepping up to the plate these days. Mine included.
Night before last one of the kids and I stayed up until 4 a.m. (discussing important childhood crap,of course)
So yesterday I was beyond worthless. My husband did laundry, dishes, trash, and took the two younger kids to the Airport. While I spent most of the day in bed ,sleeping and moaning about how miserable I felt. :)

A big thank you goes out to all the good hubby's !

So in honor of the good hubby's out there...(and for the ladies who could use a laugh) presenting ........
my ex husband........

He's still available if any one wants him. :)

Today is run all the neglected errands day.
Including buying some food. I do not want to SEE another piece of Christmas food or my eyes will explode.

Hopefully I'll be back with something fun or exciting to post about.;)

Have a great Friday peeps!!!
Luv me

Oh yeah..p.s.

This private blog crap is really depressing me.

I went from like 30 or 40 readers a day ...to 3 or 4.....:(

and hardly anyone comments. :(

My self esteem is shot. I'm out of diet pills ,wrinkled and pimpled, fat, and can't even remember if I took my antidepressant.

And if you saw my house , you would cry for me!!!

Santa's galore....

The upside down perfume tree and the awesome mirror.

The presidential tree.

The dog and cat tree.

The hallmark tree.

The Mardi gras tree.

The snow white tree.

A bunch of half drunk ,arguing assholes, loudly playing scrabble.lol

tiny little quail eggs

???? senility prevents me from remembering the name of this berry. lol

She had many other beautiful decorations that did not download. damn it!!

So , we get home ,hubby goes to bed. And son two begs me for the money I had of his,so they can "go out"

Oh where, oh where have my little ones gone
Oh where, oh where can they be
With their wills cut short and their idiocy cut long
Oh where, oh where can they be?

Oh yeah , at the strip club .

Oh the joys of having ALL boys.

NOT!!!

If I could stop it, I would. :0

One minute, bursting with pride , the next ashamed .......

What's a mother to do???

Have a wonderful night all!

I'll be waiting up for my moron's to get home, so I can let them in.

Luv me!!!

And coke cans were strewn all through the house

Happy day after Christmas y'all!

My house is a wreck. :0

Today we are all going to Auntie J's.
She is going to make us dinner .I hope it's yummy enough to wipe out the horrible food memory of yesterday.

Last night was pretty lazy. I think 2 of the kids never even got dressed yesterday.

Floozie2 and Lake farmer came over and we all played Balderdash until after 11 p.m.

Floozie2 beat us all with her beginners luck.:)

Merry, Merry Christmas!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS Everyone!!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful day.

I'll start with Christmas eve I reckon.
I'm behind here because I've been having internet problems. Gmail is also screwed up. I am just now getting mail that people sent me 3 days ago.

Ok, Christmas eve ,we always go out to dinner. Well ,here in the spa city nearly everything is closed .We had a choice of Outback or 2 really fancy places. I called the fancy ones(which we have never been to)

"Can you tell me a ballpark range for your entree prices?"

"Oh, but certainly madam, they range from 25 to 75 dollars."

*choke* "ok ,thank you"

Outback it is!

First we have to get all gussied up. After me nagging everyone for days "you will get dressed decent AND shave."

I try on all MY dressy clothes .....yep, sure enough , things that were hanging on me 3 days ago will barely fit. Sa-weet!

A fat day. how F'n special.

So, I wind up in pants and a red sweater. Yes, I do look as fat as Santa.

My hubby wore a suit and of course ..always makes it look EASY to look great when dressed up.

The kids shaved and sort of dressed up.

Lake Farmer came over and took some pictures of us all. They were great except for me looking like a double chinned fatty. :(

So we rush off to outback....they close at 9!

Everyone has a nice dinner , we take pictures and stuff. they all come out like crap. lol

We get home and I still need to finish all my Santa duties. Well ,then the kids realize they have wrapped none of their gifts, Two has not painted the scroll kit containers..etc..

I wind up staying up until 2 in the morning ,waiting for them to finish all their stuff and finishing my own.

Cavuto ,who has NOT even woken me up since we got back from Dallas, decides to loudly and annoyingly wake me up at 7 this morning.

"wow, wow, wow" drags the paws thru my eyelids.

"wow , wow, wow" drags paw over my mouth.

Ok, I give up. Sludge myself out and make coffee.

Three is sleeping on the couch .
"mom....give me coffeee......"

Eventually , all of us are up but we have a million things to do before we can open prezzies.

I get all the hors derves ready on the counter. Two stuffs some celery, hubby gets the Big green egg fired up.
Then we have a boiled egg fiasco.

I had the brilliant idea to make deviled eggs. Which I have NEVER made. I have not even boiled an egg since the last time we had an easter egg hunt. (actually hubby 2 may have done THAT part)

So ,I ruin about a dozen eggs. The shells were stuck to them like glue, and somehow the insides were still kind of raw.

Those went in the garbage disposal ,while 3 tried his hand at it.

He boils up another dozen eggs.

They were so hideous. I never did even try one.

Tempting, isn't it? ROFL!!

The filling ...so runny and gross. The eggs , so torn up and ugly. lol

(WHY is this thing underlining everything?) ack!

Then we opened our gifts , I think it was noon by the time we finished . And I still had EVERYTHING to cook.
Except the turkey.

That had been on the green egg all morning.

So , i get in the kitchen and start cooking away. I had Floozie1's recipes for the awesome sweet potato casserole. Ruined it. drained the liquid, guess I shouldn't have.

The mashed potatoes , ruined 'em. Put too much milk in them. they were about like that egg filling. *gag*

The gravy.....oh my Lord....the WORST I have ever made!!!Not only tasteless ,but colorless as well.

The stuffing, totally baked to death on the bottom. Dry ass stuffing jerky.

I was literally on the verge of nausea as I tried to eat it all.

And...I was exhausted. lol

As soon as we ate ,I put the food away and rushed off to my room to take a nap. They were going to watch Transformers.

Good, wake me up when it's OVER! :)

So ,there you have it. All in all it was a great day , filled with annoying kid squabbles and hideous food, but lots of laughter and great gifts. :)

I'll get to those later. And post some of the worst pictures ever taken. :)

It's time for happy hour baby!

Merry Christmas!!!!!!
Luv me

They make king size pillows?

Happy Sunday y'all!

Yesterday I started out my day by going down to the cat shelter thrift store. I didn't find anything, since I only had a dollar to my name. I did look at all the kitties up for adoption. Trying to see if they had a part Abyssinian kitten. (Eva is looking for one)
They did have one. A little cute girl. They also had a snow Bengal . He was so cute, laying there padding his feet in the air ,just like Cavuto.

By the time 1:00 rolled around, I needed my nap so bad I could barely keep my eyes open. But "I" stupidly decided I would be the one to go to Little Rock and pick up Three at the airport because i wanted to go to Target on the way.

Well...the parking lot at Target was so damn full , there was a mile long line just to get into the lot!
So much for that idea. That wasn't happening in an hours time. :(

So we got home and did pretty much nothing the rest of the afternoon. Then hubby, Three and I went and ate dinner at 8 p.m. at the Brauhaus.

It's kind of a cool weird place.

Three ,perusing the menu.

Chicken with hollandaise sauce.

I think I figured out the mystery of why old men want to marry young girls. They get sick of their middle aged wife being in her pajamas by 5 P.M. and her being too tired to want to go out to dinner at 8P.M.
Who knew?

******************************************************************************
I tried to wait up for the other kids to get here. Hubby and three were both snoozing on the couches.
I finally went to bed at midnight. Slept for about an hour and a half then they called me wanting to know how to get in the gate.

Stayed up for a very short time and went to bed.
Son TWO arrived sick . He has a nice raging head cold . Sweet.

*****************************************************************************
This morning son Two woke up in a puddle of sweat on his pillow. I said "eww, next time sleep on a cheaper pillow, not the 50 dollar king size pillow."

Son One" They make special king size pillows?"

Me" lol, didn't you notice that the sheets come with those 4 foot long pillow cases?"

One" yeah , I thought it was some fluke"

There you have it , someone really does learn something every day.
27 years old and didn't know they made king size pillows. :)

********************************************************************************
Oh yeah.....on the way here ,One got a speeding ticket (naturally)
but the cop made him get in the front seat of the police car while he quizzed him on weather W**** was his first or last name.

DUH!!! Like Black was his first name.

This happened the minute they arrived in ..yep...you guessed it, Arkansas.LOL

****************************************************************************

Well ,not sure what our plan is for today. This town will probably rolled up like a ghost town.

I'll be back latah.
Have a wonderful Sunday!
Luv me

MMMMMM...prime rib.....

Ola Y'all,

Last night we had our little dinner party and I forgot to take any pictures. ACK!

It was us, Nosey and G5, Floozie2 and Lake farmer. And my husband finally made leafs for our table so we could all fit at the table .YAY!!

We had prime rib cooked on the egg, loaded baked potato cauliflower, green chili corn and yeast rolls. And Shrimp Cocktail.

It was all YUMMMAYYYYY!!!

We also have the best neighbors in the whole wide world. What a difference from Chicago.
We lived there for 6 years and did not know ANY of our neighbors except the ones right below us.

We love you !!! Neighbors.

************************************************************************
Today is the big day that my chill'uns arrive.

Two of them have a 14 hour drive ,so they won't be here until tonight. And the other may or may not be getting in around 3 , depending on weather his flight gets canceled or not.
they must be having some crappy weather out in Chicago (as usual)
They've already canceled hundreds of flights this morning. GAH!

************************************************************************
My husband stilllll has both guest beds covered with stuff. He has been bustin' ass around here. But it never ends ,does it? lol

all I have to do is finish the laundry and clean the kitchen. My chores are done!

Guess that means I'll have to go do some thrift shoppin' :)

Perhaps I'll do a picture post later on today.

have a great Saturday!

What great hair I have......ha ha ha

Happy Friday and hopefully ,for all you working stiffs , your last day of work !

Another thrilling day here yesterday. I went to a few thrift stores. Found Nothing. Then It was off to the hair place. Which turned out to be a very nice little place.
As I was sitting there I remembered how much I LOVE the atmosphere in a beauty shop. Christmas music was playing, no rage going on,women in various states of ugliness, gossip, just a happy, happy place. Like a slumber party all the time. What fun it must be to work there.

My gift certificate was for a shampoo ,cut and style. But since my spouse was rushing me to hurry up, because he had to go to little rock. All I had time for was the haircut. Which by the way ....for the first time in decades ...... was NOT a disaster!
Jennifer ...you are my new hero and my hair lady forever!!!

I will post a picture ..after I wash and style it myself. ahem.

Then I rushed home so my husband could have the truck. Have I mentioned that having ONE vehicle really sucks? Well having one vehicle really SUCKS!!!

Then I spent the next few hours doing my holiday baking and candy making. The babies were locked in the office the whole time and were like wild animals when i finally let them out.

I made swedish sugar cookies, no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies, white christmas, peanut cookies, cranberry nut bark, seems like there should be more.... but that's all I can remeber. :)

Floozie2 and Lake Farmer came over for a little while and then we went to Olive garden to eat dinner. They were not that busy , but 4 of them stood around while we waited for a table. We wound up eating at the bar ...while my husband got madder and madder. I knew a "queen earlene " was about to happen.

"please, wait until we're DONE eating"

which he did. Thank God.
I jumped up as soon as I was done and said "i'll be outside ,smoking'

I could see him through the window, wildly waving his arms around in rage ,as he queen earlened the manager a new ass.

Apparently , that wasn't good enough. He had to write Olive Garden a nasty gram after we got home as well.

Good lord. why can't everyone just be calm , like me. lol

Well , tonight we are having people over for dinner AND this is also the last day to clean before the kids arrive ,TOMMOROW. Ack!

So my plan is busting ass house cleaning.

The song of the morning is......."what a wonderful world"
unfortunately ..that's the only line I know.

Repeat until insanity ensues. :)

Have a great day y'all!

Oh ,P.S.
At dinner , after many daymares of my husband trashing our bedroom , while having HIS desk in there. I suggested that maybe we should move MY computer in there and HE can stay in the real office. He agreed. YAY!!!!

Boring but clean....

Happy Thursday Peeps!

Yesterday I worked like a fiend alll day long cleaning this sty. The paper shreds are gone. The boxes are OUT of the entry way. (Yippeee) The gross bathrooms are scrubbed. The Grocery shopping is done.

Also finished all my gift wrapping.

And ...the desk is procured!!!
It's the cute little white one. Desk and matching chair for 75 bucks. SCORE!

My plan was also to go get my hair cut. Well after changing my appointment 3 times....I finally embarrassingly, called back and changed it to TODAY.

I have no exciting news to tell ya because I didn't leave the house at all , except to go to the grocery store. :)

My plan today ..is the haircut, and hopefully hit the thrift stores.

Have a great day y'all! Luv me

oh p.s. You should be able to leave comments now. I fixed it. So comment people! Comment!!

Crap soup

http://theweisel.com/myspace/colorado-dec-2007/action/

Click the link above to see the snowboarding pictures. I would tell you which kids are mine....if I could tell. lol

Two are ,one is not. They all look the same in those outfits. I'm pretty sure the one "up in the air " is Logan. My youngest.

**************************************************************************

Speaking of kids, mine arrive for Christmas in 3 days. And yep...you guessed it . My house is still in shambles.

I can NOT believe it. Nor do I know where to even begin cleaning it up.

*****************************************************************************

My friend Floozie2 gave me a gift certificate for a new haircut baby! So, that is on my list as soon as I can get an appointment.
Thanks Floozie2!!

Hopefully I don't wind up like this.
As that's usually what happens every time I let any one near my head with scissors.

************************************************************************

I did finish my cards AND my shopping. So, that's some progress. Just not enough . :(

Yesterday I continued my quest for a new (another) office desk. With my spouse home, we need 2 of them now.

But I refuse to pay hundreds of dollars for cheap particle board CRAP!

So, I have found nothing suitable. ack!!

My search will continue today. So thats my plan du jour.

Oh yeah ..before I forget ,here's the song of the morning....this one is a real winner. NOT!!!

"I I I I ...I am the frito bandito"
I love fritos cornchips I really dooooo.......

Hit it! :)))

Have a great Wednesday!

Drum roll please...Presenting a guest post by Weis

Day 1 – My first direct flight to ANYWHERE out of Jacksonville

I caught my ride to the airport at 4:30am. The driver was talking my ear off. I was tired.

Got to the airport, checked in, waited, and boarded the plane. As the plane was taking off, I noticed that I had to pee.. not good.

There was a selection of movies on the plane, but I had to pee like a thousand race horses, so my plan was to wait until they’d let me go to the bathroom, then pay $8 or whatever to watch the simpsons movie. There was a ding, and I tried to get up to go pee, but was yelled at by attendants. Argh!!!

FINALLY, I’m allowed to go to the effing bathroom!!!

After the restroom, an awesome wave of relief washes over me. I return to my seat and settle in for the movie. However, I realize that it’s now too late to buy the damn movie!!! Grrrr!

No big deal, I busted out my laptop and watched some tv shows. Direct flights are the shit!!!

I arrived in Denver and received a phone call from a rather grumpy Logan. He and Eric had slept less than 3 hours each during their drive from Chicago.

I met up with Logan near the baggage claim. Miraculously, my bags came out rather quickly. We went out to the car and I drove us up the mountain. Eric’s car was missing a driver side mirror. I quickly realized just how heavily I rely on this mirror. Especially when the backseat window is far from opaque and I’m sharing a winding mountain road with semi trucks and junk! Kinda scary.

We arrived in Breckenridge before too long and located the hotel. This place was RIGHT on the main drag! It was walking distance from countless bars and restaurants. Good thing we were all flat broke!!

The room was a bit small, but was VERY nice. There was an indoor parking garage and we didn’t have far at all to walk to our room. The only real downside was that the hot tub is clear across the property. There’s no internet access as usual, but I was sometimes able to connect to somebody’s wireless.

We got into our snowboarding gear and headed to get the lift tickets. It was a little after 1pm.. we only had abour 3 hours left before they closed the lifts. It took a long time to get the tickets.. we decided to just call it a day and not waste a day of lift tickets. We noticed that our hotel was also right across the street from a small grocery store… SCORE!! We went and loaded up on cheap food for the stay.

We headed back to the room and busted out the poker chips. Again, since we were all broke, we had to figure out something else to gamble with. We decided that the winner won’t have to carry their snowboard to or from the slopes the following day. I WAS VICTORIOUS!!!

We found some other board games and played games for like 6 hours. Going to bed before 10pm like old men.

Day 2, we finally hit the slopes.

The sky is gray, the ground is white. It snowed about 4 inches that night.

My new board seemed to be working out great! As was my helmet, which I was able to plug into my mp3 player and phone so I could listen to music and hear the phone ring!! Sweet. It was rather powdery, so falling was like landing on a cloud.

We broke for lunch and headed back to the room to eat groceries. After lunch, we saw some maniac grinding a rail and jumping 12 feet down onto a snow bank…. Crazy.

I seemed to be doing well, so I decided to follow Logan and Eric down a double black diamond slope.

I could barely stay up on my board for 2 seconds.. pretty much tumbling down the entire first part of the run. Not much fun so far. Then it gets to a part where it’s nearly flat.. there’s a ton of powder (like 2 feet deep at the minimum) and a narrow, 2 foot wide trail on which you had to stay, or you would just sink in and get stuck.

Once you fall down, it’s almost impossible to get up without just sinking further into the snow. Then, I finally get up (Logan is behind me and Eric is up ahead, having stopped to wait for us) and actually get moving… headed right for Eric. He tried to hurry and get moving before I got there, but was a moment too late. I had to bail off to the side of the trail and was once again stuck in the effing snow!!!

This was quite a frustrating run… After which I had no intention of touching another effing double black diamond!! That damn run made me more tired than the previous 3 hours of boarding! #^$%&#$!!!

That night, Logan wanted to watch the bears game.. so we found a sports bar with cheap drinks. We ordered some wings, which were ok.. but heavily breaded.. so kinda gross at the same time.

After the game, we headed back to the room and played poker. Once again, I dominated!!! Muahahaha!!

Another day of not having to carry my own board awaits!!

Day 3 – It snowed a lot that night.

Every night was a symphony of Logan’s snoring, mixed with a circus of my tossing and turning, while juggling repeated glasses of water to quench my desert of a pallet (apparently a product of the dry / thin air and electric heat.) Needless to say, there was little room left for sleep.

We marveled at the new snow, watched the conditions report on tv and put on our gear.

There were even more trails and lifts open today! Weee! Today was also the last chance we would have for night skiing, so we took it easy at Breckenridge. After lunch, we lounged around for a bit and then headed to keystone, a neighboring resort!

It was sooooo freakin’ snowy. The 15 minute drive there turned into 30 and was nerve-wracking at best. We arrived a little before 6pm and headed for the gondola.

We had a beer each on the way up the gondola every single time. It was exactly what I needed to loosen up a little and snowboard to my full potential. It was such amazing fun! I was hauling ass and keeping up with Logan and Eric who were both surprised with my performance.

We boarded non-stop for nearly 4.5 hours. We were trying our luck with riding switch (the opposite way we’re most comfortable with). Logan and Eric were riding switch and Logan said something to me as I was approaching him. I stopped and turned town my music so I could hear what he was saying. Just then, I heard Eric yell behind me. I knew he was coming straight for me. I felt my legs swept from under me in an instant. I remember thinking to myself, “aah.. no pain. Looks like I got lucky on this one.” Then, my arm smashed into Eric’s board…. YOWZA!! It hurt like crazy, even in my drunken state. I was able to move it ok, so I got up after a moment and continued boarding.

Finally, it was approaching 11pm when they closed the slopes and fatigue was definitely kicking in for me. Logan and Eric were racing each other and I got separated from them. I ended up going the wrong way and veered off a path that ended up in the middle of nowhere. I found a few skiers there and asked them if they knew where the gondola was. One guy replied, “about a mile that way.” Aaah crap! He went on to tell me that he had been trapped there for hours and was entertaining himself by grinding on some bench. He headed towards a building and said he was going to try and find ski patrol and beg for a ride. I started off with him and suddenly we heard the other dudes yelling.. THERE WAS A BUS!!!

We began sprinting back towards the bus in about a foot of snow.. *whew!*

Once I got on the bus and caught my breath, I pulled out my phone and it was having some kind of malfunction. No wonder Logan had not called. I figured he must be freaking out by now, haha. I got the phone to reboot and sure enough, Logan called. He said he was about to go combing the woods looking for my frozen corpse.

After I got back to the little village area, I finally found Logan and Eric and we headed for the car. EXHAUSTED was at that point, redefined.

We were all very tired, very sore and VERY hungry. After some bickering, we decided on pizza. The quickest way, was to call and order carryout from dominos. We called it in and figured it would be ready by the time we got back to Breckenridge. We get there and I jump out to grab the food. The crap ISN’T READY YET!!

10 minutes later, they finally hand over the goods. Logan and I pile back into the car and we all head for the room… RAVENOUS.

We get to the parking lot and I jump out to put the key in the thing that opens the garage door. The garage opens and Eric tries to maneuver his rear wheel drive dodge charger up the incline in the 6 inches of unsalted snow… fat chance!!

His car was sliding all over the place in the tiny parking lot… the garage door closed.. I re-opened it.. more failed attempts. It’s FREEZING.

Eventually Eric ends up getting stuck and sliding sideways towards a parked car.. apparently Logan yelled stop just in time.. the car stopped sliding literally 3 inches from the other car. I joined Logan in pushing the back of the car away from the parked car and we managed to get it unstuck. Not for long though.. our next attempt at the garage door landed the car TOTALLY STUCK.. and nearly blocking in the car we had almost hit. We decided there was nothing we could do.. and our freakin’ food was going to freeze if we didn’t get it inside.

We went up and devoured the pizza & wings like a pack of wolves!!! The swill that Dominos serves NEVER tasted so good.

Oh yeah.. on the way to keystone, I bought me a BOX OF EARPLUGS!!!

Day 4 – Our last day of lift tickets.

Aaaaah yeah!! I think this was the best sleep I got the whole trip. Even with Logan in the living room, I was able to hear his snoring THROUGH the earplugs.. but it wasn’t enough to bother me. I LOVE EARPLUGS!!!

We awoke somewhat early and noticed that Eric’s car had not been towed – A good sign. The other car was gone and somebody had written “FUCK OFF” across the snow on his windshield. Oops :)

I surveyed my injury from the night before.. There was a foot long bruise, in the center of which was the inside of my elbow.. swollen up like a golf ball. Nice.

Logan was whining about his arm.. claiming that an earlier collision between him and I was all my fault. Alas, he could produce no evidence of such an injury.. haha.

We lethargically bundled into our boarding gear… wolfed down some breakfast and headed out for a late start. Today, it was SUNNY!!!

This was the first day that it wasn’t snowing since we arrived. It was a beautiful day for taking photos! The welcome change in conditions was not without consequence, however. No falling snow + sunshine = ice. Fatigue + gravity + ice = pain. I had fallen a lot during the trip, but falling in powder is fun. Every fall on the compacted snow/ice was a death sentence!!

After a good 2/3 of a day of snowboarding, I was totally beat.. in pain.. aggravated and ready to call it quits. Despite the sun, it was probably the coldest day of the trip… Don’t ask me how that works. With the wind chill, it was 2 degrees. Logan and I were both fed up with freezing our asses off on the lifts. Eric, for some reason, was full of zeal.

We got off the lift at the top of the mountain and strapped in. After I got strapped in, 2 skiers decided to stop RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!! In my efforts to not plow into them, I busted my ass… hard. GRRRRRRR!!! The rest of this run was nothing but pain and rage. I was done!!

We were headed down the mountain for what I thought was the final run. I kept falling on my already tender ass. It was heinous.

We came up to a small lift and Eric got on. I assumed it was a short lift that we had to ride in order to get to the right part of the bottom of the mountain. WRONG! It seemed like the longest ride in history. It was absolutely freezing!!! Eric had tricked me!!

I made sure to be extra careful as to not exacerbate the severity of my already debilitating buttocks bruises. Once we got to the bottom of the mountain, I was actually glad that my final run was not the absolutely miserable one ruined by those 2 asshole skiers.

The snowboarding part of the trip was over. It was an amazing time!! My body was ravaged, but it was in one piece!!

We high-tailed it back to the room to change, then went to “Mi Casa” for some $2 tacos!!

The scummy happy hour crowd was crammed into the cantina part of the restaurant. Amazingly, we found a table (a very tiny one). We ordered 2 tacos each, 20 wings and made several trips to the nacho bar. We had food stacked 2 feet high on our tiny table.

After eating too much, we headed back to the room. As usual, the instant we tried to watch any TV, we all passed out.

Day 5 – checkout time: 10am

We got up around 9 and began to clean up the absolute shit-hole that was our fancy schmancy room. There were probably 6 bags of trash, 50 lbs of dirty dishes, dirt and funk on the carpet (which we had realized wasn’t even supposed to have shoes on it). We scrambled about, packing up our crap. I made the wonderful realization that I WAS OUT OF CLEAN SOCKS!!!

I was then faced with the immense pleasure of digging though the dirty laundry bag *wretch!* in search of a suitable pair for re-wear… *GAG!*

I don’t have many phobias.. but wearing dirty socks is definitely one of them!!

We managed to get packed and cleaned up with about 3 minutes to spare. Logan and I went to turn in the 2 of 3 keys that we managed not to lose. I’m sure it goes without saying, but it was Logan who lost a key… haha!!

We loaded up the car and headed down the mountain. It was about 10:30am and my plane didn’t leave until 4:41pm… nice. I found that all the falling on my arse the day before had resulted in a nice hemorrhoid flare-up. The perfect travel companion!!

Once we arrived in Denver and were nearing the airport, we started looking for a place to chill out and have lunch. There were no decent restaurants whatsoever. We ended up at Qdoba. It was surprisingly good. We milked the free fountain drink refills for quite some time. Finally, we decided to get on with it.. go ahead and drop me off at the airport (2.5 hours early) so Logan and Eric could begin their pilgrimage back to Illinois.

I lugged my luggage to the ticket window for what I thought was the right airline. As it turned out, that was the airline on the second plane, so I had to walk over to the other damn line.. (which was far).

Finally I get though the security and find my gate.. .so tired!

I board the plane and what the hell!?!? My seat is in the LAST ROW! I book this flight nearly 4 months in advance, always request seats in the front, and here I am.. crammed into the very last row, which doesn’t even freakin’ recline!

There’s some weird girl sitting next to me and we have 1 empty seat between us. We’re both praying for it to stay that way!! EUREEKA! The flight was nearly full, but we got an empty seat between us to help us cope with our inability to recline.

That was one miserable flight. I couldn’t sleep.. but watched some good episodes of damages.

I changed planes in charlotte. It was a little after 9. I found some place near my gate.. the Budweiser cafĂ© or something. I ordered a sandwich. The people who worked there were weird. There was one chick who looked like she was 12 months pregnant. There was some moron drunk, flirting with all the women who worked there. I could see right through their faux endearment towards him.. but he couldn’t.

I ate half my sandwich, heard something about my gate, chugged my beer, wrapped up the other half of the dry, overpriced sandwich and headed off.

This plane was southwest airlines.. no.. us airways. Oh yes! The seats were much farther apart, even in shitty coach. I had ample legroom and my seat RECLINED!! It was such a short flight, sleeping wasn’t an option though.

We landed in jax about 15 minutes early at around 11:45. I drug my weary ass to the baggage claim. In an amazing fluke, my 2 bags were among the first 10 out of the thing!! It was so amazing. I got a text message from Klam, whom I was unsuccessful in calling moments before. He had parked!!!

I met up with the maniac and we headed to his car… crammed my stuff inside and headed home.

He had parked for maybe 15 minutes. It was a maze trying to find our way out of the lot. We made it to some pay windows and he informed the crazy hag that he swiped his card on the way in. Oh, hell no!

This was apparently a freak occurrence that they never, ever have to deal with. We’re sitting there for literally 20 minutes while literally 4 different people attempt to figure out how to handle our payment of $2.

Then, the lady tries to charge us $6 because we were there for like 30 minutes trying to fucking pay!!

We talk her down to $4 and they finally lift of the arm.. holy shit. It was like something out of the twilight zone!!

The end.

Kindest regards,
