Two wonderful things happened this morning. I found my NEW prescription glasses which have been missing for about a month. Let’s just say I blame Cavuto for knocking them down behind the headboard.
I also found the back to my diamond earring ….right before I would have sucked it forever into the vacuum cleaner.
These two miracles made the drudgery of cleaning my pigsty for the new few hours, a little less annoying. I was finished by 10 and out the door.
I went to the thrift store because I had an hour to kill before my lunch date with Floozie1. I actually found a few cute things including a lime green sweater, and a brand new brown blazer. And one of my peeps was there, BB, she’s a real nice girl that works at another thrift store. She’s applied for a job somewhere else with better hours so she can spend more time with her kids, and was there looking for job interview clothes. I told her if she didn’t find anything suitable to come on by and check out my closet of doom.
The Floozie1 and I went and lunched at an honest to goodness Arkansas greasy spoon. It was called Mel’s Diner of course. Black and white checkered floor, 45 records hung on the wall, and the menu written on a board on the wall. It would have been a lot nicer if said decor had been updated in the past 20 years.
Floozie1 got the meatloaf, which came with mashed potatoes, corn, beans, cornbread and a roll….for the whopping sum of $4.50
It looked good! But after so many days of lean cuisines and dry shredded wheat…….I had to have a cheeseburger and fries.
I’m sure I don’t need to tell you how yummy it was. But the fries were HOMEMADE!! (like Mcclards)
I was in fat girl Heaven.
Then we went our separate ways. I went to a couple more thrift stores, the grocery store and the library.
(yes, I know how exciting I am)
Tomorrow JoJo and BoBo are coming over. I’m going to show them a house first. They want a house with more land. This one has 5 acres and a guesthouse. I will be cooking for them, so tonight I am putting a roast in the crock-pot for good old Chicago style Italian beef.
Lulu just called me she is off for the next 4 days and wants me to come see her. Which I may do, since my weekend has no big plans.
Big surprise Huh?
Hope you all had a good Valentines Day. Apparently the going thing is people hate it.

I admit, before we were married my husband hated it. But now he’s pretty darn sweet about it.
